Second-Order Derivatives
Let y = f(x) be a differentiable function of x and let its derivative be called the first derivative of the function. If the first derivative is differentiable, its derivative is called the second derivative of the original function and is denoted by the symbols
The derivative of a given order at a point can exist only when the function and all derivatives of lower order are differentiable at the point.
